MAW

Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to provide service to others!  In the late 1990s, the leaders of Chi Omega researched opportunities for establishing a national philanthropy. In 2002, they announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance.

Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 37 million dollars and has accumulated over 1.4 million volunteer hours for Make-A-Wish!  Because of this commitment, the foundation recognizes Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors. Through this, all Chi Omegas can understand the importance of serving others as a founding principle of our Sisterhood.

A wish granted not only provides hope, strength and joy to a child and their family, but it can provide a wish child with the ability and willingness to comply with difficult medical treatments, and the hope gained by that wish often improves a child's physical health.

Here at Pi Alpha, we have granted many wishes (more than 8 consecutive years!), raising almost $10,000 each year! Because of our partnership we've been able to host Wish Kids and their families at our house for fun parties, meet them at the airport to send them off on their Disney trips, volunteer at the Cincinnati Make-a-Wish Gala, and so much more.

We have many events throughout the year benefitting Make-A-Wish.

Some of the fundraising events for Make-A-Wish we have had in the last few years include Kickin' it with Chi O (Kickball Tournament), Halloween s'mores sale, bingo boards, Waffles for Wishes, and our biggest event, Chi O Karaoke! Check out the fun photos from one of the best events on campus below!

A Letter From Our Philanthropy Director

Service has always been an essential part of my life, and as the Director of Community Service for Chi Omega, I feel an incredible sense of fulfillment in our partnership with Make-A-Wish, a cause that holds a deep and meaningful place in all of our hearts. The mission of Make-A-Wish, to grant life-changing wishes to children battling critical illnesses, resonates deeply with me and our entire sisterhood. Being able to witness the tangible impact of our fundraising efforts is both inspiring and humbling, knowing that our collective support brings smiles and moments of joy to these courageous children and their families. It’s an honor to be part of something so powerful, and it fills me with pride to know that, through our efforts, we are turning dreams into reality. Together, we’re not just making wishes come true—we're creating unforgettable memories, and that’s what makes this chapter so special to me.
